TerpSys awarded the "Health & Wellness Trailblazer" Award by the Alliance for Workplace Excellence
The Alliance for Workplace Excellence (AWE) presented sixty-six Washington, D.C.-area businesses with the 2009 Workplace Excellence Award and the 2009 Health & Wellness Trailblazer Award at the North Bethesda Marriott Hotel and Convention Center. TerpSys earned both of these awards for the third year in a row. The 66 winning companies represent more than one million employees from organizations of all sizes and in all sectors-private, public, and nonprofit. In 2009:
- 56 companies received the Workplace Excellence Award
- 27 companies received the Health & Wellness Trailblazer Award
The Workplace Excellence and Health & Wellness Trailblazer Awards highlight businesses that promote professional fulfillment and personal wellness at work, at home, and in the community. All award applicants undergo a rigorous assessment process led by an independent review panel of professors, PhD professionals, and doctoral candidates in business, industrial and organizational psychology, and human resources. Excellent Workplace and Health & Wellness Trailblazer Award winners demonstrated equal merit in each of the following categories:
- Supportive Corporate Culture and Management Practices
- Family and Employee Friendly Policies and Practices
- Strong Employee Health and Wellness Initiatives
- Comprehensive Growth and Learning Opportunities
- Demonstration to Corporate Social Responsibility and Employee Volunteerism
