(Rockville, Maryland) - TerpSys was named one of 50 "Top Corporate Philanthropists" by the Washington Business Journal on Tuesday, June 12th at their 10th Annual Philanthropy Summit breakfast at the JW Marriott Hotel in Washington, D.C.
"In seeing all of the billion dollar companies on the list, it is quite an accomplishment that we have made this list for two years in a row," states Ed Woods, President and CEO. "We would only be half as successful, if not for the unbelievable participation and generosity of our staff. They get involved, and they get their family and friends involved in supporting Team Turtle at our various community service events. I continue to be amazed by their selfless commitment to helping others and for their positive enthusiasm while doing it."
TerpSys has a "three plus one" giving structure, along with a pool of paid community service hours per employee. The three "core" organizations that we support every year are The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation (Komen Race for the Cure®), and The National Capital Area Alzheimer's Association (Memory Walk and Tour de Canal), and For Love of Children (FLOC). The "plus one" organization is one that rotates on an annual basis and is in response to the specific needs of our staff, family, and friends.
