TerpSys awarded the "Workplace Excellence" Award by the Alliance for Workplace Excellence
(Rockville, Maryland) - The Alliance for Workplace Excellence recognized the 62 winners of the 2008 Workplace Excellence Award and the 19 winners of the Health & Wellness Trailblazer Award at their Annual Awards Luncheon at the Bethesda North Marriott and Conference Center in Bethesda, Maryland. TerpSys earned both of these awards for the second year in a row. More than 600 business executives from the Greater DC area will be attending the luncheon to recognize their peers who are leaders in providing an excellent workplace environment for their employees. The 2008 winning companies represent more than 1.3 million employees from small, medium and large, private, nonprofit and public sector businesses.
Both the Workplace Excellence and Health & Wellness Trailblazer Awards were created to recognize visionary employers that are paving the way to a workplace where men and women are able to experience professional fulfillment and success and personal wellness not only at work, but also at home and within the community. In order to be considered for the awards, businesses were require to complete a comprehensive and rigorous assessment process led by an Independent Review Panel of professors, PhD professionals, and PhD students of business, industrial and organizational psychology, and Human Resources. All 62 employers demonstrated exemplary commitment to Supportive Corporate Culture and Management Practices: Family and Employee Friendly Policies and Practices; Strong Employee Health and Wellness Initiatives; Comprehensive Growth and Learning Opportunities; and Demonstration to Corporate Social Responsibility and Employee Volunteerism. It was required that each winner show leadership of equal merit in these areas.
